So I never really blog about my kid

but tonight I am because it’s literally just one of those nights.

Let’s start from the beginning, like a month ago or so. Kiddo’s been doing this reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally annoying habit of making himself burp (swallowing air and the burping it back up) and anyone who knows my kid knows that he has a history of throwing up at the slightest bit of weirdness. So every.single.time I tell him DON’T DO THAT YOU WILL MAKE YOURSELF SICK AND THROW UP!!!!! I get the “No I won’t, they’re just burps”. -sigh-

So last week he gets a cold, turns out to be a really nice ear infection/sinus/throat infection. AWESOME. I took him Monday to the dr. for antibiotics because that’s when he finally starting complaining about his ear. At 330 in the morning. SO we’ve been trapped in the house since last Thursday because he was sick etc, and let’s be honest, he’s three and bored out of his skull. So finally he’s better today, I figure we can head out to GermLand aka Cosmic Adventures for some burn off energy time while mommy surfs the intertubes on their free wifi..

So while I’m hanging up coats, J has taken him to the washroom to go to the bathroom and I caught up and took over. Before we even get to the peeing part the bathroom he decides he needs to spit so instead of spitting in the toilet he swallows it and then is all “ew i swallowed boogies” and I’m all “well next time spit it in the toilet!” So he decides he needs to “reclaim” what he swallowed by making himself burp which in turn MADE HIMSELF THROW UP. Again I tell him ALL THE TIME when he does that, don’t do that, you’ll make yourself barf.. It took everything I had not to shout at him and go SEE I TOLD YOU THAT YOU’D MAKE YOURSELF THROW UP.

I spun him like a top when he let loose so I only got a wee bit on my sleeves, but it was all over his shirt, his socks, the floor.. the person in the stall next to us’s socks…Stripped him down, bought a cosmic shirt and new socks, which of course are slippy as all get out. Every 3 seconds I’m on him to stop being a spaz, gonna fall etc etc etc well sure enough he’s monkeying around on the tile floor at the food counter like a cracked out starlet and BAM falls and knocks his forehead off the floor -YARGH- As I was trying to get a drink from the food counter I was apologizing to the poor girls in that area about the kid barfing in the bathroom and they’re like it’s ok, it happens and I’m like HAHAHA YEAH! THANK GOD IT WAS THE BATHROOM HUH? COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE TUBES! The poor girl in front of me turned like white as a sheet. She looked new and I guess that never occurred to her. So he got about 15 minutes in the room upstairs to play and 15 in the arcade and we came home. I was SO DONE dealing with that.

CAN’T WAIT FOR TOMORROW BECAUSE WE’RE GOING BACK AGAIN WITH FRIENDS!

I honestly don’t think I got anywhere with 2009’s goals.. I don’t think I actually made 2009 goals. I can’t seem to find any kind of record of it. SCORE! Well no, I did have some goals on review part 2, but they really weren’t resolutions I guess.
2009’s Goals:

  • Follow my house maintenance list – I don’t think I ever made it past the first week. Not like I can’t try again this year.
  • Follow a photo 365 project. – Failed! I tried several and I think I lasted a month and change.

Lucien’s, kiddo has got this category down pat. In March we moved him into his big boy bed, in which he has slept with mininal complaint since. Someone close. I still struggle daily with the acceptance of how much lying this person does on a daily basis.

thinking of switching up this joint

dunno yet. DIR has for the most part been stale this year. maybe next year it can be reborn in a photo/writing project. i’m thinking of doing a 365 project that isn’t self portraits, but really just a one a day. not to say that will happen -lol- but we shall see.

it is however about that time to find the year end wrapups and fill out the 2009 variety. this year was pretty quiet, but there was still enough that happened in the background that was eye opening and life learning experiences.
