Writing, photo and cleaning things

When I was younger I used to write a lot. I had many fantastical world’s of my own with hundreds of stories based in them, as I got older I delved into the world of fanfic. My stories got lengthier, and at a few given times I had enough paper written on that could be a novel. When I turned 21 or around there, I just stopped writing. I know the reasons why now, er I should say reason. He was the reason for me stopping a lot of things I enjoyed doing, but that’s another blog entry.

Over the past couple years, I have less than half heartedly thought I’d participate in NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. One year I actually started out well. I had a designated notebook, character workup sheets, 3 lead characters mapped and outlined in complete detail. I even got as far as writing about 3 chapters and then I lost interest, mostly because I had no plan on where my story was going to go. I have signed up again this year to try again. Probably a foolish idea due to having to tend to Lucien so much, but I’m willing to give it a go. No character workups, no plans. I just want to sit down and write. 50,000 words in a month. Hrm.

Another writing challenge that I’ve discovered in the past 24 hours is NaBloPoMo or National Blog Post Month. This is a more obtainable goal for me. 30 posts in 30 days; 1 post a day. I’ve already got a list of “what to write about” because I really want to use this as a challenge to my blog writing, plus you get to maybe hear some good tales of my past or something. My blog used to be much more entertaining 3-5 years ago, maybe not well written, but definately more interesting. It’s a lot to say that because I remember being told by several other bloggers through “blog jumping” that my site was rather dull in content *L* So if that was dull, dear God help me with my blog right now!

I’m also going to do this 30 posts in 30 days with Picturing as well. I don’t know if it will be included on the official list or not yet, but I’ll play along with it anyways. Oh and there is 26 Things. Thankfully I have November’s photo club photo already or I’d be in trouble, as NOvember is looking to be a full month of creativity. I’m either going to rip ahead and do something amazing like all the projects, end up sticking to one or two of them, or fail miserably in all of them.

Let’s also throw in the fact my Mom arrives on the First and will be here for the first 10 days. I need to start cleaning the guest room. It’s in shambles. I have a plan of attack, I just have to get a move on it. To do that I need some free time where I’m not crazy sick feeling. I’ve had a wretched beast of a cold the past week and a bit. So we shall see where this leads me. Either to great things or total failure. Here’s hoping!

Bummed from JC

* Explain what ended your last relationship? Him being slightly mental plus the crazy lack of desire to better himself
* When was the last time you shaved? Last Sunday
* What were you doing this morning at 8 a.m.? Putting Squeaker in the carseat to go have breakfast with Sandi
* What were you doing 15 minutes ago? Putting away groceries
* Are you any good at math? Basic whole number math yes.
* Your prom night? what about? I went home to my bed and slept. I hated my promdate, I only went with him because I felt guilty backing out of the date after he spent so much money on the dance tickets, dinner and his tux rental. Continue reading ‘Bummed from JC

Tromping along

Things are going well. Procrastinating about tidying up the house. Mom shows up next Weds. Lucien is growing well, I’m taking him to a well baby clinic tomorrow to be weighed. I’m curious and he doesn’t have a dr. appt till the 6th.

Some pics, as usual they’re locked up, so sign in :)

Edit:
Lucien weighed 9 pounds 12.5 ounces at the well baby clinic.

Trimming baby nails

is a terrifying experience.. But at least now the claws have been shortened!

Also this evening I finished up the 2006 Scavenger Hunt photographs from last weekend.

YOu can find them on Picturing’s Galleries

Coming soon, the Fall Challenge images. I will point out the image used at the top of this layout was a higher scoring image in last year’s Challenge. I did fairly well in the challenge last year, I dunno about this year. I was tired and I had Squeaker strapped to the front of me so getting down to the ground was tough for a lot of the shots. My arms were also rather shakey, so in diffulcult lighting I had to reallly stop down the camera, my images are all rather dark. We shall see.

1 Month - My my my how the time flies

Today marks one month of life for my little man. As we settle into a routine (or we like to think we are) it feels longer in time, but in the same breath I can sit back and marvel at the newness of it all. Has it settled in yet that I’m a mommy? I’m not really sure. However, I find myself just amazed at this tiny creature that has turned our lives upside down, and I just love him to bits. Daily he comes up with a new way to fustrate both Kev and I beyond belief, but then makes us forget all about it by melting our hearts with this tiny sigh cooing sound. He’s learning how to be vocal outside of his normal squawks and squeaks, sometimes we awww and sometimes we just laugh as it is hands down the silliest sound we have ever heard. As much as I want time to stand still I cannot wait for him to be able to giggle and laugh with us.

Over the past month we have gotten lots of questions. I cannot answer for K at all but I can do some for myself. I feel like a broken record at times saying the same thing over and over again, but it shows that consitency is key -lol- The day my answers change, we should either be a) very happy or b) very worried, one of those two! Well the weather

held out wonderfully for Saturday. We participated in the photoclub’s Scavenger Hunt. We all had a really good time, L was a wonderful baby for all of it and I got some really nifty shots. I didn’t photograph as much as I wanted to, I honestly was just enjoying getting out and walking around in the fresh air. I’ll post some photos over on Picturing in a day or two.

Sunday was a wash for several reasons. 1) it rained 2) Saturday was the most exercise I’ve had since August 31 and 3) Friday night was a really bad sleep night for the family which made Saturday all that more exhausting. Sooo… we stayed in. We’ll Run for the Cure next year. Sunday afternoon we had Thanksgiving dinner at K’s mom. His brother and his brother’s gf will be out of town this weekend so we had dinner a week early. I didn’t mind, mmm turkey!
