hrm.. photo projects

So, there is a new 26 Things project coming up over on sh1ft.org. It starts the first of July, I hadn’t gotten a notice for it yet, I’m glad I went and had a looksee. I haven’t even MOVED on the Q&A project that was announced a bit ago, I should really start on that soonish.. I honestly have no reason, and soon time will be a precious commodity so I should get cracking while I have the chance.

I spent most of the day, putting new items up on miaouphoto’s cafepress shoppe. I’m hovering right on the edge of the “premium” shoppe. I need, well rather, I want the option of having more than one post card item, one greeting card item, etc.

I need to refocus on my portfolio doings too.. choosing photographs for cafepress has shown me how limited in ways my photograph collection is.. and I need to expand it.

Clouds ~ Photo Friday

Disc golf, good tunes and a full belly

Man.. I had some good lunch today.. Coney dog, chili fries and a large rootbeer float*L* FINALLY. I still have yet to get to taco bell.. Maybe tomorrow before the wedding :)

Mom and I got down to downtown Ann Arbor this morning bright and early… Stopped over at Encore Records, got Tim’s new cd, and I asked about Pat Herek’s as well.. and the guy had 3-4 used copies of it.. so I picked up one of them.. it’s been lovely listening all day.

Todd gave me a ring this am. He picked up the gift he wanted to get Scott and Michelle this morning after he got his tuxedo.. We had a few options for this afternoon..I chose the outdoor activity.. just because the movie would have cut it a bit close for him to be home by 330 so he would be ready for the rehearsal dinner. So we passed on Farenheight 9/11 and decided to go play Disc Golf. IT was probably the most entertaining 2.5 hours outside that I’ve had in a long time*L* Good exercise too… I’ve discovered that I’m not so good at throwing a frisbee.. I’m gonna have to look for some courses in Ottawa. I could get into that sport.

Harmony

Listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s latest album, Harmony. It’s so lovely. I’m hoping to leave with a copy of it Monday morning…

Things here are still well, I finally got ahold of Lorie that I hadn’t talked to yet since i got in. She brought the baby up to the bowling alley.. she is the cutest little bug ever. Got to hang out for a few hours, saw lots of people I hadn’t seen in a year. Did some bowling.. and wow.. I hurt today*L* Who’d have thought that would make you ache?

I’m beginning to feel.. the pressure of sorts.. that my time here at my parents is coming to a close. I’m anxious to be home with K, but at the same time.. I’m not ready to let go of my time here. This past year has truely proved who is what to me, and I do not want to let go of them. I want to spend weeks watching movies with my dad.. I want to spend months having coffee with my mom. I know I’m coming back in 2.5 weeks, but it’s still hard. After this summer, it’s time for reality.. and I will not have the freedom to just scamper off to see my parents any time I want. It’s so very funny, if you had told me 10 years ago, I would cry because I was leaving my parents to go back to living far away.. I’d laugh hysterically in your face.

In anycase.. I’m gonna jet. I’m thinking of going to Ann Arbor to pick up a cd.. Crazy to drive there for just that, but it’s my friend’s first solo album.. and well. It’s a dream since 6th grade, finally coming true! That was 1988 people! *L* Some of you may recognize him as one of the front runners of the band, The Original Brothers & Sisters of Love. I don’t have all the story yet, but suffice to say, TOBASOL is now The Great Lakes Myth Society.. They’re minus one member, she’s now a mommy. I wonder the fate of H.O.M.E.S volume 2, the album that TOBASOL just finished a few months back. Hopefully it will see the light of day in the near future.

Eye-Catcher ~ Theme Thursday

My dad’s dog Dutchess.. is an eyecatcher no matter where we go with her spots :)

corner of doom is no longer

now.. all that is left.. is the little area around flame’s trunk.. and flame’s trunk itself.. I’m thinking tomorrow afternoon i can do that.. gonna go see flame in the am, then i’m thinking of going with todd shopping around noon, then off to the barn again in the afternoon with my dad and shopping for scott and michelle’s wedding…

just waiting now.. to head to the bowling alley.. i’m hoping lorie will show up.. i’ve been trying to call her all day.. with no answer.. i spent the afternoon with todd. it will be good to see everyone up there and surprise them..

i rode flame yesterday.. we had a much better day than saturday.. i have been just lunging him and that.. well yesterday i lunged him for about 20 minutes in just the bridle.. and fussed over him greatly when he was good.. then after that i took him out of the arena, and just ground tied him(dropping the rope to the ground), and thought well.. if he gets antsy he gets antsy.. and i tossed the saddle pad up on him.. then the saddle.. tightened the girth.. and he never moved.. cept to stomp his toes a few times to get the flies off. i was mega impressed.. i rode for about 45 minutes.. and he was just amazing. no arguments, no not doing what i asked and all that.. he was really good…

my dad’s dog is so sweet.. she comes in and sits next to me at the computer and just rests her head on my thigh while i sit here.. i’ve missed having a dog about.. walking is more fun, when you’re just sitting being quiet.. having them just lean into you while you read… it warms the heart.
