so been bustling about all day getting ready to go on vacation.. we spent a good amount of time earlier today out at rona/canadian tire/walmart, trying to find irrigation spike thingies for our houseplants.. and could we find them? oh god no*L* so we have this odd “wick” contraption thing going on with our houseplants, some buckets and some scraps of cloth…
was just in the kitchen chopping veggies to have with our sammiches tomorrow.. sort of using up things that will be going bad over the next few days.. and i kept hearing this booming and rumbling.. the first time i heard it, it was passed off as a motorcycle, then i thought it was thunder, and then i realized.. no, those are fireworks! who the hell is setting off big booming fireworks? and then.. i remembered the Casino du Lac Leamy Sound of Light is happening over in Hull, Quebec.. and if i peered far enough to the right outside my kitchen window.. i could see some of the bigger explosions.. i really dislike hearing them, and not being able to see them.. we went last year to it.. but i was in some discomfort.. well a LOT of discomfort.. i was in the beginning owie stages of a root canal.. and i was tired, in pain , crabby and just not in the mood.. not to mention, the battery on the camera was going dead.. and i couldn’t get any fireworks pictures… the finale is on my birthday.. i just dropped a huge not so subtle hint to k about it*L*
i’m really looking forward to going away.. it will be quite nice, to just have some quiet time, without k stressing about work, the phone ringing, the computers, etc.. just a lot of reading, fishing, walks, pictures, mmm and movies.. because k’s mum loaned us her laptop to store our photos on, so that we’d not run out of space on our film cards.. and weeeeeeeeee it has a dvd player.. and of course will play mp3s.. so now we have our own wee theatre system…
I shall see you all sometime on the 4th.. have a great next week/weeekend.. be safe and all that stuff..

there won’t be much posting next week, or any theme thursday/photo friday submissions.. i won’t be around.. blogging and the what not will resume as normal/usual in it’s freakish, sporadic and somewhat boring manner august 4th-ish..
This week’s Theme Thursday was was “immature”. I have some personal issues with the theme, that are explained with the photo as you will see.
Also, I have finished the 26 Things Photography Project. It will automatcially be posted August 1st around midnight. I ended up doing a run of the mill self portrait for the “you” category, but crunched for time and ideas.. I couldn’t wait any longer. I do however like the pose etc, I used for it.. so in the near future with more time/space I shall try again.
I personally had some issues with the name of this theme this week, combined with the descriptions in the suggestion. There are a lot of negative associations with the word immature, and I honestly deep down, do not believe that an adult.. partaking in an activity that a child or younger person would do.. to be immature. I see it as connecting, in the cliche terminology, with one’s inner child. There is too much in the world that weighs us down as we get older, so it’s always refreshing to see one be able to “throw their cares to the wind” and remember what it was like.. being young without responsibilities, jobs, families, etc. My photo this week comes from my husband’s collection of “childhood memories”.
but we did get this lovely creature…
amazon sucks with their shipping.. >:( my cds won’t arrive till sometime between the 4th-8th of august.. so i’m scrambling for music ideas for the trip…
i need one stinking photo to finish my 26 things project.. everything is done and ready to set up minus the damn “you” catagory.. i have a feeling a run of th emill self portrait session is about to happen.. bleh.. which is EXACTLY what i didn’t want to do.. but i have to get this thing done.. i have theme thursday to do, laundry to finish, clothes for next week to pack, hotel information to gather for next weekend, blah blah blah etc etc etc..
