Disclaimer
I tried to avoid having to create something like this, but in recent times.. It’s just become very obvious that perhaps I need to have a disclaimer, so that I don’t have to keep repeating myself in posts.
1.) Blogger’s obligations to the reader. There are none. Case closed.
2.) Blogger/Reader relationship. There can be a gray line in this age of technology where online friendships and relationships are many, but as a blog reader you should always remember — Just because you read my blog and have read my bio page does not mean you know me, nor does it make you my friend, nor should you feel you are in a position to judge me or my views. You are only getting snippets of my life; not the whole story. Obviously there are situations where this does not fully apply, including IRL relationships or online relationships that I have pursued on a more private level.
3.) As many people have found over the years; tone of voice, emotions, and facial expressions, are “lost” in electronic communications. This has often lead to hurt feelings, misunderstandings and unfortunately arguments. I tend to not go back and edit entries unless they are extremely upsetting, so if at any time, I have offended you (truly deeply) or hurt your feelings, please email me privately to discuss this.
4.) Under no circumstance are you to ever directly link to any image on this site. Don’t be a bandwidth thief.
5.) Under NO circumstances are you ever to use my photography in any form or fashion without seeking permission. No photograph that I have taken and posted on this site, miaouphotography.com, miaouphoto.com, flickr.com or cafepress.com falls under any Creative Commons license, my artwork is copyright protected.
6.) IE message script credited to Dan
7.) This blog is my property. The domain is owned by me, the space it is hosted on was purchased by me. The decisions of how this blog/domain are run or designed are purely my choice and no one elses. Think of it as my little piece of Internet Real Estate. I can choose how to paint my house, what plants to landscape with and what kind of car to park in my driveway.
8.) Comments are a privilege. They are not a necessity. I choose to have comments on my site for feedback on posts, and for messeges from people passing through. My mother used to have a saying when I was growing up concerning privileges my parents chose to let me have. You abuse it, you lose it. Most of you that visit my site are adults, please comment, discuss and/or debate as such. I do not tolerate fighting, slamming, flaming, bitching, or any other form of being down right snarky to other comment posters. If you are a repeat offender and I have to constantly edit, close or remove posts/comments (see First Ammendment posting) from my blog, you will find yourself banned from accessing my site. Shit in my yard, I shall beat you with the shovel I have to clean up everything up with.
9.) With respect to my family’s privacy, picture posts and posts about them are locked and viewable by approved members only. To read and view such entries, you need to be registered on this website as well as be approved by me. Registration does not always equal approval.
1st Amendment Rights
Amendment I – Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
If you notice it says Congress (Government) will make no laws, it says nothing about privately owned establishments. The courts have ruled the 1st Amendment does not apply to private establishments, and establishments have the right to regulate their content, and can be in some cases held liable if not done so.
DIR is a private establishment/property, which means its contents belong to and are regulated by the Webmistress, not the government. So the Webmistress has the right to regulate the content of this domain.
