blech.. going through the kid’s toybox today made me realize just how much stuff this kid has accumulated in a very short 2.5 years. i have no where to put the stuff he no longer plays with. we’ve been keeping everything, but it’s so overwhelming that part of me just wants to get rid of it.
but most of it got done today while I was gone -lol-
We ordered yesterday and recieved today Lucien’s mattress/boxspring/bedframe. It’s now assembled to his crib’s headboard/footboard. I’m thinking that the makers of the crib were expecting the stuff to sit on the floor with the frame instead of on risers, but oh well, I need to be able to clean under there and move the bed easily to clean behind it. Kev also put the curtain rod/curtains up for me :)
I need to clean/do minor repairs on some of the crib bedding etc, and then figure out what to sell it for. I hate to admit it, but it was probably the biggest waste of $ that I invested as far as the ZOMG I’M HAVING A BABY shopping blitz goes. It was expensive and we’ve never used ANY of the set with the exception of the laundry basket. My friend Julia’s son has slept in the crib more than Lucien ever did *L*
last night around 9 pm, Lucien woke up from snoozing during trying to get his pj’s on to being incredibly sick all over Kev, the nursery, me, our bedroom, the bathroom. Once he was done with that, he spent the next 3 hours heaving stomach acid until he developed one or more Mallory Weiss tears and started bringing up blood with the stomach acid. We quickly went to CHEO for assessment and treatment.

Listening to my kiddo laugh while watching this Pixar short is a breath away from cuteness overload. I only thought to get a video of him laughing after he’d been laughing for a while, so I will try again tomorrow.
Last month at my brother in law’s wedding, I caved to Lucien’s begging of “take picture?”.
trying to think of some good things to for Christmas presents for Lucien that incorperates some items we already have here at the house. So far I’ve come up with a couple of Tonka trucks for playing outside in the sandbox & yard, an art box (supplies etc) to go with his art desk that he got for Christmas last year. I’d like to get him a couple of smaller musical type gifts, maracas and a kazoo or something. He already has a piano, tambourine, harmonica & xylaphone. Some things I’m thinking of to round it out are a cabbage patch doll, a membership to a museum or play area maybe a movie. Stuffing the sock is a whole other story thankfully I stocked up on matchbox cars last summer. Nifty little website is helping me think of some ideas not only for Lucien but for other family members as well.
Right now the biggest task is to cull the herd in the living room. Lucien’s toys are out of control and I’d like to move into the new year more simplified with his toys and have them more focus on playing together and learning.
the year sure has gone by fast. Christmas is just around the corner. blech. This is the official start of NaBloPoMo. Lets see how the next 30 days go!
Was out late, went to bed even later. Lucien was up around 3 sick from coughing. Poor kiddo’s had a nasty phlegmy cough for a while now.. 3am seems to be his magic hour for waking up coughing. yeehaw. Kev was up with him too god knows when, and they just woke up. I got up only to let the dog out and of course I’m up for good since having to go out in the zomgcold! It’s a crisp 3C (37F) and going up to a balmy 5C (41F). brr.
