2007 In Review Part 1

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?:
I took a chance on making some new friends and they’ve ended up being some of the best I’ve ever had.

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?:
I failed all but 2 I think. I would like to think I succeeded at the last two.
2007’s Goals

  • Lose 50 pounds and get into shape - HAHAHA. After giving birth to my son, I lost the 25 I gained during pregnancy plus more for a total of 35 pounds or so, however in 2007 I put it ALL back on.
  • find my creative spark again - if anything, I’ve lost more of my creative spark this year.
  • play the piano more - I played it about 5 times.. not sure if that was more than 2006 though *L*
  • ride Flame more - Embarrassed to say I didn’t ride as much as I should have much less as much as I’d like to. I have however found a really wonderful lady to ride him for me and they’re doing wonderful together.
  • appreciate the smaller finer simpler things in life - not even sure what the small things are at this point. I’m frightened to admit how much my job has really skewed my view of things along with making me come unglued.
  • be a good mommy and a better wife - I’d like to think I did pretty ok at these. Lucien is thriving, curious, energetic, loving and an all around sweet guy. I’m still married and Kev says he still loves me so I guess I’m doing ok there too. If it wasn’t for these two wondeful creatures I’d be in a scary place.

2007 Wrap Up

January - The year started out slow. Not a lot of blogging done, but I did start to get out of the house for meetups with other moms. Lucien got his 4 month needles, started making the decision to switch to Wordpress, my dad visited and Lucien had portraits done, and Lucien took his first sleep in his crib.

February - Rusty got an earring, Contemplated getting a job, and then finally got a job, moved up with the photo club, and got closer to switching to WP.

March - Switched to WP, Lucien turned 6 months old!, had to clean house because my mom came to visit, Lucien really thought chopping snow was funny, and then I started working drive through, went out clubbing and said goodbye to Jenn when she moved to Barrie.

April - We celebrated our 5th year anniversary, made Spring cleaning plans that went at least 3/4ths unfinished, we got a bit of snow, went to the community Garage sale, and had my patience tried by friends and aquaintances.

May - Started filling out my citizenship application, and made plans to take my mom everywhere.

June - Lucien was officially out as long as he was in. It was an emotional day, Kev had a vacation and we went for lots of hikes, Got ready for my dad to visit and had my belly dance recital.

July - Had a really nice Canada Day, Dad and Pat visited: we went to Montreal, the Bluesfest, and watched the baby learn to cruise. Kev and I also went to see the new Harry Potter movie at IMAX and I sent my Canadian Citizenship papers off to be processed. I also started trying to organize my categories in my website, and I also went offline for a few days to avoid having the last Harry Potter book spoiled.

August - I started noticing the trend of not posting very much, did my first maternity shoot, Lucien took his first steps, and I started to hate my job. My Citizenship application showed up system. Lucien’s birthday approached and I realized that I hadn’t been planning like I usually do!

September - Made some noise about decluttering house, Little dude turned 1, signed up for the CIBC Run for the Cure, had a birthday party, and watched Lucien hover between a baby and becoming a little boy.

October - October was a lean month for posting, activity wise I can’t remember I have very little memory of this year outside of big activities. Too much stress and everything being a blur. This little skit pretty much was my year working, geared up for my vacation to Toronto cleaned the front garden and planted bulbs, started the Biggest Loser Challenge in my mommygroup (currently failing hardcore at that), and then went to Toronto.

November - Talked about the baby, went on a photo excursion with Yumi, did poorly with BLC, recieved good news about my Citizenship application, the horn on the bus went beep beep beep, tried that whole battle plan for health and home again, photographed a baptism, gave up on NaBloPoMo, and got a real life grown up hair cut, that I actually have to maintain instead of letting go wild.

December - Shocked myself with the BLC Challenge, spent a lot of time working on cleaning up house and making plans for some sort of scrapbook station, experienced a liberation movement, and got a whole lot of snow! , even more snow!, survived Christmas, laughed at mah dog, and got ready for the New Year
