I haven’t forgotten you blog
really I haven’t.
There really hasn’t been much going on. Day in day out sort of stuff. Had a busy couple of weeks there with my dad visiting and then just doing stuff around the house. Nothing productive mind you. The laundry is still out of control, the kitchen’s a mess again -lol- I’ve given up on the living room (remember what I said about your living room Bren? yeah… ).
Summer is racing along at a horribly fast pace. June is nearly over, every weekend from now until mid-August has SOMETHING going on. Between a photoshoot, a vacation, a competition, bridal shower, family get togethers….it just doesn’t stop. Somewhere in there I have to get ready to move stables for Flame, plan the vacation in August, plan my mom’s trip for the beginning of September…
We bought a new car. Hopefully by the end of the week the dealership will be calling us to come pick up our brand spanking new 2009 Matrix XRS. Its coming in Magnetic Grey and with hot hot fuel efficiency.
I ended up hearing through the grapevine that my stable where I board Flame at is closing at the end of the month. I was more than slightly panicked because well, there are not that many days left in June. I finally got ahold of the lady who owns it and without divulging the reason of WHY, she told me yes, however one of the current boarders (K) is opening her own stable 5 minutes away from the current place. New stalls, paddocks, outdoor arena, trails, indoor arena is being built and the lady who owns the current stable will be going there to do training etc. Some of Flame’s buddies are going to this new place as well, so I said go ahead and tell K that I’ll take a stall. It’s about $100 more a month than what I pay now, but S (lady who rides Flame for me) has offered to cover that difference as well as pay for any trailering fees to get him moved up the road. We don’t HAVE to leave by the end of the month, but I forsee us moving him by mid-July as that’s when everyone else seems to be leaving as well.
We’re still planning on taking a vacation in August. Not really sure what we’re doing other than “going East” and seeing Bev. Last I heard Kev might be having to travel for work and we’d be going the second week of August? Dunno -lol-. My in-laws are also moving that first weekend of August I believe so it’ll be hard for them to do that, watch Dutchess and Sport at the same time.
Lucien is just growing in leaps and bounds. He’s rougly 2′8″, weighs about 28 pounds. We spend most of our days lounging around the house, however we have been going swimming a lot lately. We head to the local pool and splash around for a couple of hours. Wears both of us out good. He’s so incredibly smart too. I would figure at this point in time, I’d be used to being amazed at how quickly he learns things. I did some speech/language test the other day and with the exception of longer phrase sentences he speaks at almost 3 year old level (he’s got 2-3 word phrases down). He’s just about got his alphabet down, he can count successfully to 10, he knows many many animals, shapes, sounds. He’s obsessed with firetrucks, Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit… not so much Cars anymore, but he still gets super excited when he sees something with Lightening McQueen on it. Also when we’re out in the yard chasing Dutchess, he shouts FAST!KERCHOW!LIGHTENING! at her which makes me laugh pretty good.
We registered him for nursery school starting in September. We feel it’ll be a good mesh for him to learn in a fun enviroment as well as have some structured time with other children his age away from Kev and I. The selfish side of me is looking forward to having that 5 hours a week to myself! The cleaning can be taken care of, I can make sure I’m on top of my photo projects!

Living room smiving room. I don’t even know what that is. We now watch tv in our baby depot. Heh.
Nursery school!?!? Holy smokes did that go by fast or what?
He’s a brilliant boy clearly with all the things he knows. I am really going to try baby sign language with our little guy and see if JC and I can learn as well. Our neighbor who teaches sign, did it with her little girl who’s only a couple of months older than Lucien and she has complete conversations with 8 word sentences. It’s amazing!
