City issues emergency parking ban.
On Thursday, city officials suspended all parking bylaws allowing people to park on streets in the downtown core of the municipality in order to help them catch up with snow removal.
Deputy city manager Richard Hewitt said downtown streets are at the minimum widths required for emergency vehicles and in some cases below the most basic standards.

To deal with the situation ahead of a major storm predicted to start Friday night with 30 to 50 centimetres over 36 to 48 hours , city officials banned all on street parking downtown Thursday night. This includes vehicles with on street parking permits issued by the city.
That’s 11-19 inches (for those of you who don’t function in centimeters) by Sunday afternoon. Ottawa has already had nearly 140 inches of snow since November 20th. Eleven feet of freaking snow. I AM SO DONE WITH WINTER. At this rate, the snow will be gone by June.
We’re supposed to go to Montreal Saturday morning.. most likely not going to happen. Which makes me angreh.
