Oh hai! It’s day 2 :)
There were a few things I left out yesterday. I was going to throw in some baby stuff, some fat girl getting thin stuff and some photo things.
Fat girl getting thin. Hrmph. Started the biggest loser challenge yesterday and well, I failed the first day -lol- I had one too many Starbursts.. What a bad choice to start this weight loss thing.. the day after freaking Halloween! So yeah one too many calories, but it’s just the start. I have to send my weight and that into the organizer for her to track as well.
Photo things.. I finally started my photo course. The first packet was just all talk about the course and what we’ll be doing. It really kinda sucked, but the second part was much better and more of what I was expecting as far as learning. There is a club outing in Kingston near the end of the month, I don’t know if I want to go. I’m a bit of a puss about the cold and quite frankly, mid-November really isn’t an interesting time of year for nature photos. We’ll see what the weather is like.
Baby stuff. This kid amazes me. He’s so smart! I know I’m biased but he really is sharp as a tack. He’s got SO many words, he recognizes so much, he connects activities to words etc. It’s just amazing. We went to the wave pool today and in the change room I was putting my socks and he kept saying “Socks!Socks!” over and over again. Then when I was done putting my socks on, I asked if he could bring me my Momma Shoes and he picked them one up by one to bring to me. I think it was dumb luck that he happened to bring the left shoe when I was holding up my left foot though -lol- He recognises the written word OWL to the word OWL that he says as well as to pictures or figurines of owls. He recognizes pretty much anything that looks like a cat or dog and says the right word. Socks, shoes, PJs, Pea, piece, tree, see, sky, bird, this, happy, and cookie. He asks questions using the words see, this and piece. If he’s wanting more food or a piece of what we want he’ll ask for “piece?” If you sing if you’re happy and you know it, he’ll clap his hands at the right spot. He’s a clever little boogah.
He also makes my heart melt so much. He’s finally starting to ask for me a lot, before it used to be all about Kev. Everything was Daddy! Dada! Dad-deeeee! All day, all the time. He now says momma a lot and when he hears me in the house will ask for me. Makes me squishy. He’s also very adorable at bedtime. I sing this song that we learned at Gymboree. I call it Red and Yellow, not really sure it has a name. But anways, it goes to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Red and Yellow, Green and Blue
These are the colours surrounding you
Red for the apple, Green for the trees
Yellow for the sun and Blue for the sea
Red and Yellow, Green and Blue
I see Orange and Purple too!
The most heart melting squishy part of it all is when i get to “Green for the trees” he quietly will say treeeees and smile. I usually sing that with Twinkle Twinkle along with the ABC song as they’re all the same tune and make for routine. When I sing all three and he’s settling down into sleep, he will go “happy happy happy”. I swear it just zings me right in the heart.
He also loves to boogie. Kid LOVES music. He’s got this little Little Tykes boombox that plays a few songs, there is one he doesn’t care for. If that comes up, he’ll keep trying to push the button to change the song -lol- You can ask him to play a song for you and he’ll go get it to push the button. He’s recently tried singing along with songs etc which is super cute.
OK so yeah.. enough babbling about my kid. :) I have 28 more days to do that.
