Catsup ketchup catchup
WoW! Time flies. I’ve had lots to talk about lately but little time to get it all down. Now while L is playing happily on his own in his playpen, I’m at a loss for words as I try to remember all that has happened in the past week and a bit. I suppose we can start with the baby (he’s the easiest to remember):)
He’s not too far off from walking. He loves to cruise the furniture, he’s constantly up into things; grabby grabby fingers! He’s added a new word to his vocabulary; we now say “UhOH” successfully when something hits the floor. It’s pretty gosh darn cute. When we help him walk, he’s moved into running. If we hold his hands, he can also walk up the stairs, sometimes even making them one after the other without stopping (-insert major freakout here-). He’s eating off our plates like a champ. He’s fond of chicken, beans, broccoli, potato. He loves his apples and squash as well. Yogurts a big hit too. Last night we found a new food for him, Tom Yum soup. I have a feeling this kid could have eaten my entire bowl last night.
My dad and his girlfriend were visiting this past weekend. We had a really nice time. Thursday was a quick supper after they arrived with some chitchat before they headed back to their hotel to catch up on some zzzz’s. Friday we had Gymboree and did some grocery shopping for dinner. They headed out for a bit to check into their new hotel (parking and customer service drama from the first hotel) and then they went shopping. We had a nice salad with BBQ grilled chicken for dinner. Saturday had the 4 of us (K stayed home to snooze) heading out to Montreal to the Biodome. We had a really good time there, after we got back we had some jerk chicken and rice with peas for dinner. Sunday we went for a walk with the dog and then off to the Bluesfest down in LeBreton Flats. We took in a show by Ruthie Foster which was held in the little theatre in the new War Museum. This woman can sing! Holy lord does she have a set of amazing pipes. We then headed out to have a bit of eats. I had some Mexicali Rosa’s, K had some curried goat, Dad & P had some soup. P & I caved for some Beavertails afterwards. They’re pretty hard to resist. While we were eating we had the misfortune of hearing Joel Plaskett Emergency perform. Guy sounds great on CD, sucks amazingly hardcore live. It was pretty embarrassing , not to mention slightly painful. After finishing our eats, we headed over to the River stage to take in the main act for the evening, The Flatlanders. These guys always put on a good show and I was happy to hear some favourites. While they did good, the sound guys did not. All the levels were way too high, the guitars louder than the voices, the harmonica nearly did Kev in at some points. Monday was spent exercising Flame, giving him a good rinse, got some dogfood for Dutchess. Ran the rental back to it’s home and picked up Thai on the way home for K’s birthday dinner. We had carrot cake for dessert, Pat & Carrie stopped by with some awesome Family Guy pens, K’s dad and his wife stopped by with cheesecake. After some short visits with everyone, I drove them back to the hotel so they could pack up and get to bed as they had an early start this morning just like me.
Lessee. There is the Harry Potter wankery in my life :) We have tickets to the IMAX showing tomorrow at 1230 for the new movie. I’d so be at the midnight opening tonight if I didn’t have to work at 5am, but I do, so no movie tonight. K is taking the baby to his mom’s and then picking me straight up from work so we can get out there and in line. I cannot wait :) I also got my note from chapters yesterday telling me my book is packed and ready to ship on next Saturday. I plan on locking myself into the bedroom all day till it’s finished. What else what else….
I am feeling the need to redesign things, I think this is probably the one thing I’m meh about wordpress is the lack of just being able to throw something together in an afternoon. I need to spend some time looking for photos, maybe use something of mine for once (haha yeah right). I do know I need to get the photo thing really going. I’m teetering between really wanting to do this and just saying forget it and turning it into a gallery site. I dunno, I guess the lack of getting out there and doing something is getting to me. I’m going to really dive into the photo club again this fall, I need to get back on track.
Not sure if I mentioned it earlier or not, but I joined Curves a month ago. I’ve not done a whole lot with it. The plan is to go after work. I need to figure out a plan for that as well as going out to see Flame. We’re both horribly out of shape. He’s stringy and lacking muscle, I’m fat and lacking shape other than blobby and round. I’m getting older and this weight thing isn’t getting any easier. Add in that I’m incredibly lazy and well -lol- You can see how awesome I’m doing at getting healthy.
I have a mommies night out tonight. We’re going to go play mini-putt. Should be fun. They’re a new group of mommies I haven’t got to meet up with yet, so we’ll see how this goes. There’s going to be only about 7 of us which should make the outing fun.
I guess that’s about it really. I have some photos to edit and mail out to some moms from Gymboree as well as a lot of photos that I’ve just been taking around the house of the baby and our outings etc
OH! and I sent away my Canadian citizenship papers on Thursday. So there will be periodic updates on that.
