I just don’t know!

as I mentioned yesterday, I had my 38 week checkup. My dr. did an internal and I do believe he’s knocked my mucus plug loose. It’s been an interesting day. I don’t have any contractions or water breaking thank god, but kiddo is moving around quite a bit, so he may be in the process of dropping. Who knows! It’s vaginal russian roulette!

Kev spent a good hour and then some wrasslin the carseat into the P5, I’ve been busily washing the rest of the clothes/blankets for the baby. I have a bunch of laundry I would like to do for ourselves. I remembered I need to get a calling card to use at the hospital so I can call relatives long distance, but for the most part the hospital bag is packed. I called admissions this morning and had them update my health card information as it was renewed at my birthday.

Kev was also up waaaaaaay late into the morning hours painting the nursery. Most of the clouds are done now, and he’s got the ground colouring laid out. He says now it’s time for blending so then he can finish the sky. After that it’s lots of painting on the jungle bits and the tree. We’ll have to clean up the trim a bit too as there is bound to be some paint that shouldn’t be there. I know there is a teal smoodge on the doorframe.

i had my 38 week checkup today.

I’m 1cm dialated, baby is still fairly high up and quite active. He’s not dropped or started to get that quiet before the storm I’ve heard about. That being said, I have been twingey in the cervix and had some low pain “period” cramps since this morning. That could either be in protest of the cerivcal assault or things going HEY lets start to get this show on the road. I hope it’s in protest. He said unless I start having crazy contractions, he’d see me next Thursday. The weekly checkups make things go way too fast.

Kev’s been busy painting the nursery. He’s up there right now with the airbrush going. I need to figure out more of exactly what we need and when to go get it this week. I’m going to also put the clothes etc away in the guest room for now just in case. It’ll be easy to switch over to the baby’s dresser once everything is set, but if this kiddo shows up early, it’ll be hell digging for everything out of a laundry basket. I also would like to sort stuff up so that I don’t have Babies R Us all over my living room anymore.
