We had our last ultrasound this afternoon to check fetal growth and position. Everything is measuring up and looking great. We spent about half an hour with our technician checking everything out and getting our little man’s pictures taken -lol- He has a full head of hair (enough to actually see it “waving” around in the amniotic fluid!), he likes to suck on the side of his hand (yay for good sucking reflexes!), all the parts look to be in working order and in all the right places, and his heartbeat has started to even out to a nice 130 bpm.

His measurements put him around 6 pounds 1 ounce with today’s timeline of 36 weeks 3 days. Babies gain about half a pound a week till they are born, which puts me approximately at 7.5 pounds in guestimation. We had a normal ultrasound movie taken, which eventually will be transfered to the computer (boohiss on VHS tapes!) and we had 3D photographs taken as well. Kiddo was pretty much set that he wasn’t going to cooperate too well with us, so we got a few shots of his face (one where he’s seriously wearing an expression I do often). Kev says he resembles me from what we could see, I’m still having a strange time wrapping my head around the fact that this little face belongs to my baby! and that baby is going to be here VERY SOON!

Kev’s been steadily attacking the nursery mural painting. He’s got the base sky done, and he’s been wrestling with the paint sprayer every 5-10 minutes, doing the rest of the sky. This is our second sprayer, the first one seized up last night on the first time using it for half an hour. This afternoon he’s been doing a few minutes, letting it dry, changing the sprayer parts to clean out and then continuing on. This process lets the sprayed paint also dry inbetween applications so he can see where things need to be done, however at this point he’s done more washing of the sprayer to keep it from jamming up than actual painting -sighs-

We’ve got about 10 people confirmed for next weekend. I’m almost to the let’s just get it over with point. I need to round up my helpers to touch base and let them all know what is going on so far so that everyone is on the same page. Thank you notes from the last shower need to be finished and sent, the house still needs to be finished cleaning (nesting and just general ZOMG people are going to be in my house) I’ve been trying to keep track of all the things left to do/get. Part of wishing next week was done, is so that I know really what is left hanging in the air on what we need. The one big thing we still need at this point is our co-sleeper. I almost really just want to order it and be like FINE it’s here, done deal, but I know the second I do, it’ll show up from someone else.

I need to organize the guestroom. I had it to clean but at the moment is has all the nursery stuff in itand then some. I need to strip the guest bed for the mattress cover that is on it and put it on my bed just in case my water breaks. The new cover I got for that room has a plastic backing on it, my current mattress pad does not. But yeah, organizing needs to happen so i can put some of the current items in the living room in there so that they are out of the way. I have some things that are “bathroom” related that can go into there as soon as I sort the cupboards out. I think I’ll do that tomorrow after lunch with Juli. Actually I want to do it now -lol- Dammit it’s nearly 11 -lol- I’m starting to ramble however so I think I’ll just leave this to end with some peektures.
