I know who all of the characters are/were because how the pop culture that surrounds all things 'trek'. Needless to say, I heard tonight on the news that the phrases, "Beam me up, Scotty" or Beam me up, Mr. Scott" were never uttered once in the original series. I found that a rather interesting bit o' trivia. Know of anyone that can verify that? I’ve never seen any of the Star Trek movies and I’ve only seen about 5-6 of the original series. I feel like it's a reflection on the fact that I'm growing older. Kids today have never even heard of half the shoes I watched as a kid, and people from those shoes are gradually falling ill and dying. Granted alot of those shows were old when we were watching them as kids, but isn't it sad to think that there are generations that just won't even recognise things like "the dukes of hazard" and "bewitched" and things like that.
