Because I can
“why did you choose these pictures for your website. I like all of your other photos, but anyone can tell that these pictures are out of focus and blurry”
I have to say thank you first and foremost for liking all of my photos but 2. In actuality, only ONE was out of focus. The second was taken through a fine mesh screen, hence the blurriness. But that’s being nitpicky. So let me elaborate on what and why I choose to post here on my site.
I choose to put any photograph I take on my website for mainly one reason. Because I can. This photography blog is by description, a companion to my personal blog. Sometimes I have really profound entries, sometimes I just have complete nonsense. Here on Picturing Reality, with the weekly photo meme’s, I have really great photographs, and sometimes I just have photographs that are to show something that happened in my daily life.
The 2 photographs in question are of the cardinal in the post Backyard Nature. Yes, I know they’re not the greatest, but they came with the excitement of purchasing my first home. I haven’t had “nature” in my backyard for 4 years. I was thrilled that I could show people that OMG i have birdies in my yard, and I can get closeups of them. Guess what, I have about 20 more photographs of backyard nature to post. Some are good, some are total crap. But I’m gonna post them, because I can.
Not every photographer out there has “omg perfection!” photographs, by far I have very few that can come close to being just “really good”. Normally I do strive to post the best that I can take on my website, but daily life isn’t perfect. Sometimes, it’s blurry and out of focus and you just have to work with what you got.

Ummmm can I just say…. RUDE MUCH? Personally I squee’d with delight over those photos when you showed them to me. And you can tell that at least one of them was taken through a screen. Constructive criticism is one thing. Rudeness is another.
