Flame has these moments, where you can never tell if he’s feeling slightly under the weather.. or the “sanity” switch somehow got flipped on in his brain. I’m hoping it’s the sanity switch, or if it was under the weather, it was because of the weather. It was quite humid yesterday. K and I went out to give Flame a bath, and I figured because he was going with.. that I’d have him take some photos of me riding badly. So I got Flame ready, lunged, tacked, rode.. Absolutely amazing personality day. He worked hard and good, no arguments, not even a hint of fussing. I could handle him being like that more often.
I have noted though, that I need to take the jumping bridle out to the barn. Flame needs to get back on track with listening to the bit and leg signals, without me pulling his face off and not being able to put my leg on because he runs through it or away from it. So the next few rides he’ll get “tuned up” so to speak with the jumping bridle. The bit on that baby offers no arguments. I’ve also noted that my riding position leaves much to desire-glares at photos- I reaaaaaaaally need to get a job so I can get some lessons.
