Hurricane Frances
passed over our house today. Rather, what was left of it and well, there was still quite a bit left of it. It’s now flooding the streets of Ottawa in the most unamusing fashion. Kev and I have decided that Sport is going to need scuba lessons soon, as well as we need some pool rafts. The following photographs will show you why.

we’re the pink X
Let’s start with the living room:

Here you can see the OLD stain from the windows never being fixed properly, as well as the darker area where water is seeping now.

Here you can see where the water has made the stucco seperate from the ceiling and fall.

Melted stucco looks like a big pile of birdcrap.

Water is now running down the wall, and UNDER the paint.

The bubble is moving down the wall.. Full of water.

Not really sealed well to start with, the kitchen window has sprung many leaks.

Various bits of tupperware to catch the water.

Dripped in water.

Papertowel to soak up the water dripping. Plastic sheet to keep it from bouncesplashing.

Various tupperware catching the water with the beach towel.

Water streaming down over the window edge.

Water splashing in the window track.

Water dripping off the window frame.

Water now seeping into the stucco of the atrium ceiling.

-lol- that’s the great part.. in June we gave our landlord a list of “to fix” items. The windows were number one on the list, but he’s been too “busy” to read our letter.
