Harmony
Listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s latest album, Harmony. It’s so lovely. I’m hoping to leave with a copy of it Monday morning…
Things here are still well, I finally got ahold of Lorie that I hadn’t talked to yet since i got in. She brought the baby up to the bowling alley.. she is the cutest little bug ever. Got to hang out for a few hours, saw lots of people I hadn’t seen in a year. Did some bowling.. and wow.. I hurt today*L* Who’d have thought that would make you ache?
I’m beginning to feel.. the pressure of sorts.. that my time here at my parents is coming to a close. I’m anxious to be home with K, but at the same time.. I’m not ready to let go of my time here. This past year has truely proved who is what to me, and I do not want to let go of them. I want to spend weeks watching movies with my dad.. I want to spend months having coffee with my mom. I know I’m coming back in 2.5 weeks, but it’s still hard. After this summer, it’s time for reality.. and I will not have the freedom to just scamper off to see my parents any time I want. It’s so very funny, if you had told me 10 years ago, I would cry because I was leaving my parents to go back to living far away.. I’d laugh hysterically in your face.
In anycase.. I’m gonna jet. I’m thinking of going to Ann Arbor to pick up a cd.. Crazy to drive there for just that, but it’s my friend’s first solo album.. and well. It’s a dream since 6th grade, finally coming true! That was 1988 people! *L* Some of you may recognize him as one of the front runners of the band, The Original Brothers & Sisters of Love. I don’t have all the story yet, but suffice to say, TOBASOL is now The Great Lakes Myth Society.. They’re minus one member, she’s now a mommy. I wonder the fate of H.O.M.E.S volume 2, the album that TOBASOL just finished a few months back. Hopefully it will see the light of day in the near future.

He was born in 1938 but seems to be alive and still kicking.

GL suffered an anurysem in Sept 2002 and was in the hospital for many months. He’s recovered and if he continues to do well, he will be doing a small tour this fall. I really hope to catch him, it probably will be the last time. I’ve seen him twice already.. he’s fab :)

That must be why I though he kicked the bucket…

Word is that HOMES II will now be the GLMS’ debut album. Last I heard they were shopping it around to record labels and a winter release was estimated. But who knows… I think it will be amazing, though, judging from hearing the songs live.
