CIC/RCMP
I would love to throw a shoe at the both of them right now. Really I would.
All I can say is I LOVE CIC for telling me I didn’t have to send my RCMP prints in the past 6 months that I’ve asked them if I should or not.I LOVE the RCMP for taking MONTHS to run a criminal history check.Add those two together, and you have me. The happiest camper in Ottawa right now.
Logic says, if a person already HAS their prints done and was able to send them at ANY moment prior to February 15th, why not have them send them? It would smooth out the criminal history check, AND make the application process go faster because they would not be waiting on the RCMP to push a few buttons and put paper in the fax machine.
See, the RCMP is taking up to 6 months to run these checks, I’ve had my fingerprints for the past 6 months. Now, if CIC hadn’t been stupid to me, and said “hey, why don’t you go ahead and send those in”, the RCMP check would have been FINISHED in the time I was waiting for CIC to get on the ball.
So the answer to today’s call was, “Call us back in 2-3 months, to see if your file has been updated.”AAAAAAARGH -fraps and cries and tears at hair and throws shoes.. big heavy heeled ones-

aaah hun…i am really really sorry….seemed like things were running right on sched…i am still unsure why they make this process so hard on both sides of the border…if you are in an honest relationship i dont think you should be required to jump thru all these hoops…i am frustrated for you and frustrated for me…chin up tho kitten, it WILL all fall into place…slowly but surely as it seems, and i’m here for ya if you ever need to vent :)
