So yesterday I finally got to see Return of the King. Hoollleeee crap. So sad, and so amazing at the same time. Out of all 3, it was the one book.. that while watching it, it was everything that I expected with the book and how it would appear. Of course, another of the sad parts of it, is that there is no more. I cannot wait for the extended version this fall.. and then probably next year the OMG HERE’S THE SUPERDUPER 80 HOUR EXTENDED VERSION boxset.. you know it’s coming! how long can you sit on your couch? I don’t know how people did Trilogy Tuesday! I barely survived the 3 and some odd hours of just RoTK.
So in light of seeing Sean Astin yesterday, I forced K and Marc to watch The Goonies last night. God I love that movie! Though at the end we watched the Cyndi Lauper video for The Goonies R Good Enough.. .and wow.. I can honestly say I DO NOT remember that thing being that messed up*L* OH and I thought that the “new” Orc leader in RoTK, looked like Sloth.. which was another reason I wanted to watch the Goonies.. No one can resist Sloth’s theme as he shouts out HEY YOUUUUU GUYYS!
So I did some looking on IMDB and this is where the kids all are today.
Steve Antin/Troy Perkins: has starred in movies such as Till there was You, he aslo played Det. Nick Savino on NYPD Blue, he’s been a stunt double in such items as Teen Wolf Too, Dances with Wolves, and Swayze Dancing as an aerial stunt dancer in learning how to groove patrick dirty dancing style
Sean Astin/Michael ‘Mikey’ Walsh: Aside from his latest lucritive adventures as Samwise Gamgee.. He’s also starred in such movies as Bulworth, Rudy, Encino Man, Memphis Belle, and War of the Roses. He has also wrote, directed, produced a lovely short film called, The Long and Short of It.
Josh Brolin/Brandon ‘Brand’ Walsh: James Brolin’s son has gone onto projects including Bed of Roses, Hollow Man, and the Young Rider’s Tv series.
Jeff Cohen/Lawrence ‘Chunk’ Cohen: As mentioned last night, there should be a drinking game set to the tune of Shut Up Chunk! Jeff hasn’t acted in many since the Goonies. He’s had a voice acting stint in Scooby Doo and the GhoulSchool, and participated in several television shows such as Family Ties, Facts of Life, and Amazing Stories(I actually remember that).
Corey Feldman/Clark ‘Mouth’ Devereaux: Ieee Corey Feldman.. I remember when all the girls were swooney over him and the other Corey back in the day. Since 1985, he’s starred in many many movies*L* though not too many noteables! Maverick, Dream a Little Dream, Rock and Roll Highschool Forever, The Lost Boys and Stand By me. He was the voice of Donatello on the Ninja Turtles.
Kerri Green/Andrea ‘Andy’ Carmichael: Again Not too many movies done here. Mainly made for tv movies, including the Young Harry Houdini. She starred in several TV series including Mad About You, ER, and Law & Order: SVU
Martha Plimpton/Stefanie ‘Stef’ Steinbrenner: Has starred in quite a few movies since ‘85 as well. Including Mosquito Coast, A life in the day, I shot Andy Warhol, Stanley and IRis & Beautiful Girls. She also had a reoccuring role on ER
Jonathan Ke Quan/Richard ‘Data’ Wang (as Ke Huy Quan): Ah Data.. He was in the TV show Head of the Class, and in Encino Man.. His other notable movie appearance was before the Goonies as Short from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He was also an assistant fight choreographer in X-Men.
John Matuszak/Lotney ‘Sloth’ Fratelli: He’s been in mostly TV series or movies cinluding GHost Writer, Perfect Strangers, A-Team, MIami Vice, and Stir Crazy.
Robert Davi/Jake Fratelli: The less appreicated brother of the Fratelli duo has gone on to star in movies such as Die Hard, License To Kill, Predator 2, Showgirls and the 4th Tenor. He also as well has a voice acting job in GTA: 3. TV appearances include LA Law, Amazing Stories, NYPD Blue, Roswell, & Gary the Rat.
Anne Ramsey/Mama Fratelli: Aw Mama. Most recoginized for The Goonies and Throw Mama from the Train. It’s truely disturbing watching this woman run with soundeffects of what seems to be a horse or pig grunting*L* Other movies she’s played in have been Scrooged and Meet the HollowHeads. She’s had a guest appearnce on ALF.
Lupe Ontiveros/Rosalita, cleaning woman: Lupe has starred in different movies such as Born in East LA, the Rosary Murders, Universal Soldier, Selena, As Good As It Gets, Candyman 3, and Real Woman have Curves. Her TV appearnces include Veronica’s Closet, Red Shoe Diaries, Dave’s World and Caroline in the City.
