all good things come to an end
but! it has a sequel.. so all is well…. yes folks, i finally finished FFX. It’s only taken me oh, probably 4 times of starting it and playing to different levels of oh say..barely out of the intro, to the middle, to just before the last battles… but in 60 some odd hours, over the past month, i have trucked my way to Yuna’s celebratory speech.. now.. i can move on to some fashion show action with FFX2 and the hot pants. yeehaw. hopefully i will stay intrigued enough with it long enough to finish it, and that nothing distracts me in the middle*L* K mentioned he was getting FF7 for the PC and i was like uhoh, it’s FFX sideswiped by FF9 all over again*L*
i also finally finished my The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. Definately an easier read than Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles, but equally as long and drawn out. There were times when I though Cleo would NEVER piss that damn snake off..but of course I already have more books lined up to read…
I have actually for several months*L* Cleo just took too long to get through, I overestimated in thinking I’d finish it rather quickly.. so in the wings, I have Mary, called Magdalene, which will be read after I read the following 2 books . The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels. From Amazon..In The Gnostic Gospels, author Elaine Pagels suggests that Christianity could have developed quite differently if Gnostic texts had become part of the Christian canon. I also have picked up The Gospel of Mary Magdalene by Jean Yves LeLoup.. According to noncanonical sources, she was Jesus’ wife, and probably not the prostitute with whom she is often conflated or confused.
Before ANY of that though… Mary, Yuna.. those chicas.. they’re just going to have to wait.. because I plan on getting some not so serious reading in with Exile’s Valor by Mercedes Lackey. In of course looking for this link, I’ve discovered that she’s put out like 4-5 new reads in the past 6 months.. JEEBUS… mostly sequels to things I’ve not read yet.. but ermph.. makes me sad that I’ve not been keeping up, but sometimes, it’s hard to keep track ya? Specially when there are 3-4 different “series” going around out there..
I also have a few little photo things to take care of. I promised some avatar graphics for an online auction, i have a few photos to finish up so that i can put together my “night series” gallery on Picturing. Peace Love and Happiness has been discontinued as a monthly project, I was hoping someone else would pick it up and continue it on, but doesn’t look like it. I had planned on just doing the “One” by U2 project, and posting it.. but eh.. why bother. So I’ll be removing that section from the gallery. There is a “Leap” project for February, the goal is to take a picture a day for something “rare” in light of the leapday.
