50 States Sharing

Bevie linked to this site called 50 States - Sharing the Beauty. Of course I had to get in on this :) So I dug through a folder of scanned images. I have a photo of a cider mill in Parshalville, Michigan. It’s over 125 years old and one of the few remaining water powered cider mills left in the state. So it’s linked up now, under MI.

guilt at disturbing others

well.. after listening to Chico and his fucking Posse fight with each other outside my window for an hour about who was going to drive drunken Posse member home.. a resident somewhere below us.. I’d say 3-4 floor.. screamed out at them to “shut the fuck up.. it’s 4am. go home” i felt like cheering.. and i suddenly don’t feel so bad about wanting to shout at morons outside my window anymore.. i may just do it the next time.. they were there at 1am as well.. with their RiceMobile parked in our “car washing spot”, they don’t live here. the best part about it? our security guard, was standing on top of our parking structure, WATCHING them be assholes for about 10 minutes. DO YOUR JOB!!! ugh.. Composing serious questions for residence office on Monday about security staff and numbers to call to report hoodlum idiots out in the park after 11pm.. i don’t care if i’m turning into a MaryJo (someofyouknowthatstory*L*).. i’m sick and tired of being distubed.

MAN! there is nothing i like better than being awake at 4am on a Sunday morning.. it’s like nono really guys.. continue to be assholes.. it’s not like i have this sleeping problem or anything that WAS on it’s way to being corrected.. i had 2.5 hours of sleep so, it’s ok! i LIKE being woken up by you shouting “fuck you, you drunk asshole. i’m not driving you home” to your drunk friend . whatta friend.. i’m sure drunkie is glaaaaaaaad to have you in his life. now go drive off the nearest bridge would ya?

1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why? There are several.. they are my favourites because of a combination of things.. their lyrics, their voice, the music, how the music is performed. Female wise I guess I can list Tori Amos, Vienna Teng and Catie Curtis. Male wise, Johnny Cash, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Chris Buhalis.

2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why? Eh. there’s a few of them. Musically wise, the one person that makes me want to claw my face off is Kelly Clarkston. Nice voice, get her off the radio though.. Stick her in broadway.. Personality wise.. and by that I mean.. how they portray themselves to the public is Avril Lavigne..

3. If your favorite singer wasn’t in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person? Mm.. Well do them one by one.. Tori yes, because I’ve seen and heard enough interviews by her to know she’s a pretty damn complex person. Catie for the same reason. Vienna most likely, but I haven’t read/heard/seen too many interviews to get a good feel about her. Johnny Cash.. yes I would have. Jimmie Dale, knowing him a bit already just as a person, I can easily say yes.. Same thing for Chris.

4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show? I’ve been to a lot of shows. The best shows I would have to say I’ve ever seen though, are Ribbon of Skyway Endless Highway, any show by TOBASOL.. especially the January birthday show.. and Jimmie Dale this summer at the BluesFest.

5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from dowloading free music? My thoughts on albums in general are this. I would buy more cds if they were cheaper. I would buy more cds if new artists and most artists in general weren’t putting out absolute shit. Most of what I have downloaded in the past year, have been artists I wouldn’t buy the whole album of.. Jewel’s new one for example.. ugh. I would hedge a guess that most people buy their CDS in general “music” stores at malls etc.. The average list price for a CD at these shops is $16-22 USD. There are places to get the same things cheaper, but you shouldn’t have to travel out of your way, or wait 3-5 days for it to arrive at your door from amazon. Here in Canada, the average price of a Tori CD is $22-23 dollars.. Even with the exchange rate(it’d be $17usd). Too much… and $23 is $23 regardless of what kind of dollar you are paying in. So. why should I pay $23 for one song out of 15. If the CD was only $10 dollars, I’d not feel so bad about wasting my money on something that is only so so to me. Do I feel the RIAA has the right to say, “don’t download our music”?.. no. I think only the artist can say, “don’t download MY music.”

well no llamas in the mist…

but i got COWS IN THE MIST! and we did drive by the llama house on the way home.. baby llamas have got to be the cutest things ever*L* so yeah.. overall nice trip, got to see some odd historical things, the urge to learn how to scuba dive to see more of the historical stuff.. there’s somethign to be said about standing on a highway of old, having the Seaway lapping at your sneakers…

llamas in the mist

i’m off to take photos with the motherinlaw here in about 20 minutes.. should be fun :) hopefully there is some fog.. i peered out the window.. not very foggy looking.. and maybe some llamas at the llama farm*L* other than that.. man 6am sucks really bad when you only went to bed at 230. i really need to beat this sleeping issue.. ugh.

in other situations…
Your emotions are likely to receive a boost of support from those around you, REBEKAH. Be careful, however, that you don’t take this energy and let it go to your head. Change Of Season ~ Theme Thursday

The first hints of Autumn begins to peek through the green leaves of summer. Slowly but surely the entire area will become a blaze of vibrant colour, before giving over to Old Man Winter
