-yawns-
The past few days have been quite busy.. yesterday… was at the barn during the am/early afternoon.. then went with my dad to a show in Ann Arbor at The Ark.. was called Rainbow Highway~Endless Skyway…. Music in the Spirit of Woody Guthrie.. Slaid Cleaves, Jimmy LaFave, Eliza Gilkyson, Ellis Paul, and Joel Rafael were the singers performing.. was a pretty damn amazing show.. I found a deeper appreciation for a lot of old songs last night.. including the good old “This Land is Your Land”… I nearly cried.. I didn’t though.. didn’t feel like explaining THAT to my dad.. but sitting nearly in the front row.. Slaid saw.. I think it was harder explainging to him.. even because I still don’t know why I was nearly crying*L*
I think a lot of it.. has to do.. with some joking around here.. with my friends and aquaintences.. it’s all done in jest, but it still strikes home.. when I’m being told that I’m abandoning my country.. or that I’m no longer considered an American.. I’m just moving to another country for christ’s sake people.. I still love my country and what she stands for.. it just so happens that my husband lives elsewhere.. Just because I don’t live in the United States anymore.. doesn’t mean I’m any less of a citizen there..or that I have any less respect for her. I may not agree with most .. ok almost ALL of what’s being done with her.. or how she’s being run… but she’s still my “homeland”.. and I still stand up for her.. and the whole atmosphere of the show last night, was just so “family” it was disturbing.. but enjoyable all the same.. i like shows that are like that..
The show Friday night at in Ypsi for Tim’s birthday.. was crazy insane fun*L* I saw a lot of people from high school that I haven’t seen since graduation…. watched Tim fall out of the bar.. literally out the door*L* Lots of beer, lots of dancing and singing.. can’t wait to see some of the photos from it.

You abandonned us… us, as in US.
It didn’t dawn on me until just now that I should turn a cold shoulder to you.
*snickers*

Maybe Jay was joking, chum. Anyhow, I hope you’re enjoying your trip Becka! Can’t wait to see some photos when you get back. And don’t forget to bring me a “Sanctity of Human Life Day” card! ;)
