I started out the day by meeting up with Jello(see married geeks blog link on the right), to see Howie Day(her tour opener), at the Borders Bookstore in Birmingham. Couldn’t see much of him, there was a speaker in front of his head*L* but he is absolutely fabulous live.. He records himself playing and loops it for a pretty amazing performance.. it’s like having a full band.. in just one fluffy haired cute boy with a guitar:) I picked up his CD for $10 as well, Jello and I stood in line and waited for him to sign the discs.. the Hubby(Jello’s that is) stood behind us and took pictures.. hopefully he got a few.. Afterwards they went home to have lunch and play with their kitties and most likely ponder their newest idea of house improvement -crosses toes in hope for the wall glazing- I then shot up Woodward to the 75 biz loop and up to the Palace.. I could see the people lining up for the meet and greet, the Palace sign had a HUGE image of Tori.. with it saying TORI AMOS LIVE! TONIGHT! Which I thought was pretty cool, I wish I had my camera out, I’d have taken a picture of it.. So I went to McDonald’s and got a drink, then went back down.. parked.. It was nice.. was early enough that they weren’t taking money to park*L* So I had an extra $10 in my pocket :P So I hoofed it over to the meet and greet, stood in line for an hour and a half with some other crazy people.. Met quite a few nice ones… including Amanda, Nikki, Halo_18 from the @forumz.. plus at the dinner, I met Rainbush, his girlfriend, Amy and her friend.. from the forumz.. I’m a bit foggy on the names..

The concert itself was pretty good.. I wasn’t completely impressed with Tori’s show.. Howie was good..played the same songs I heard earlier in the day.. But there just was something missing about the Tori part of it.. I dunno… she played mostly older songs(24 songs in total), I guess I wanted to hear more SW songs.. she did play Virginia.. which made me happy.. but the rest of it.. meh.. I’ve heard them for years..

Not entirely sure what’s on plan for the rest of the week, somewhere in there is Christmas Shopping… Weds is going to the Ark for a show with my Dad….Friday Jello & I are going to see Tim, of TOBASOL…in a solo show.. The Holiday Extravaganza show*L* It’s been years since either I OR Jello have been to the Parrot to see a show…Will be quite nostalgic…then Saturday I’m off to see the whole band play at Leopold’s… should be a fun time.. even though I just can’t wait to go home.. 7 more days…-sighs- It’s not coming soon enough…..ciao for now….
