Friday 5

1. Where were you born? Detroit, Michigan at St. John’s.

2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don’t live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I grew up in a city just north of Detroit, I lived there till i was 7 and then moved about an hour west. I don’t think I’d want to move back there..the way that the people and area have developed disgust me.. In the new city we moved to, it was a small small town.. I grew up there. Life was quiet there, I had a lot of the city life and the country life in one.. Which is why that city has such appeal now to the city folk, because they’re all moving there.. and I hate it now. The people are rude, the education system is starting to crumble, they are building box stores and strip malls on every inch of commercial land, even though the other 5748952073420593 strip malls sit half or more empty.. they cheaply build $600,000 homes that no one can afford, and most of my generation has moved away from it to the smaller less populated areas because it’s cheaper. A year and a bit ago, I moved to Ottawa. And yes I know, it’s a big city.. It’s the capitol of Canada for crying out loud.. But it was big.. when I got here. I’m not watching my high school friend’s farm that has been in the family 150 years be sublotted for apartment homes, I’m not watching our precious grazing land and forests being mowed and torn up to be a new Home Depot, Walmart, Meijer, Lowe’s or some other large chain store. I wouldn’t mind living in Michigan again.. But I don’t think I would want to live in either area I had already lived in.. It’s too depressing.

3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? Where do I feel the safest? Curled up in my bed, with my hubby.

4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? Not really.. There is still so much of the world I would like to see.. I want to tour all of Canada, and the USA as well. I envy my friend Karen.. I can’t even remember if both of us, or just me were still in high school.. but one summer her parents and the kids toured across the States and then back home.. plus being from the UK, she’s has holidays over seas.. I’d love to see Great Britain some day, and Europe.. Mainly the Netherlands, France and Greece. But I wouldn’t be happy unless I saw most of Europe.. I’d also like to see an Asian country and Australia.. And there is that every desireable cruise in the Caribbean*L*

5. Where is the most interesting place you’ve been? The most interesting place? So far.. would have to be Quebec City.. I can’t wait till I can go back there and explore. We went there for our honeymoon.. the city is amazing.. it looks so much like an old European town.. narrow streets, compact buildings.. I felt like was WAS in another country and time while walking the streets there.. That and it just has such an amazing history. I love historical stuff.

You know.. it really sucks when you find out something.. that shouldn’t really bother you.. but it does.. even though I’ve never met this person.. my heart broke this morning when I was told about him.

Six years ago, when I first started chatting a lot, I met a boy from Wales….R. He was spunky, mean spirited at times, rude, but deep down had a heart of gold, and a wicked sense of humour. I still chatted with him all those years, I can even remember the last thing I told him online.. “You’re so bad R.. I can’t believe I’ve kept you around me for so long”. It doesn’t seem like 6 years.. but it has been.. And today, another boy from Wales..S who lives right down the street from R.. told us of how R.. was no longer with us. It just seems so unreal.. he was only 21.. he was the baby of our group.. and now he’s gone..

Well, seeings how my body chose today to have an attack.. I’ve been up since 4am.. I decided to so some long ignored blog surfing.. So I went and visited a bunch of people I hadn’t in a very long time.. I don’t know why.. I just haven’t been reading blogs that much lately.. Feeling antisocial perhaps in the online world? Most likely.. I’m feeling a bit lost in some realtime relationships.. I think I may be losing a very good friendship.. I haven’t heard from them in a few weeks…It just feels that the distance etc..is proving too much to keep the closeness that we had.. I am going to ring them later today, when they will be home.. but yeah.. this distresses me..

So on gert’s page, I found this.. blogchalkingthing.. It’s easy to do and set up.. unintrusive teeny graphic on the page.. So here it is!

Google! DayPop! This is my blogchalk: English, Canada, Ottawa, Becka, Female, 21-25, Brighton High School, Michigan, 1995

So now I’m off to see Chad.. I haven’t visited Chad in so long…and he’s this wonderful entry about fear.. and what is the opposite of fear…

Now to go see Paul….and good news! yaaaaaah.. Mr. Bear is on his way once again in his journey around the world.

So I had the strangest and pretty mean dream last …

So I had the strangest and pretty mean dream last night.. I had a dream that K had taken me out for my birthday.. had me blindfolded etc.. we got to the place.. and he led me in and wahlah we were in the Ottawa Humane Society..and I wander isles of kittens.. to where i finally found the wee kitterz of my dream, and while we were filling out the little kitten adoption papers.. he said “actually we’re not getting a kitten.. it was a joke.. now lets go, we have a dinner reservation” and we had to leave my poor lil kitten on the counter:(

I’ve only woken up from my dreams I think once or twice where I was “crying” in my dream.. Once was a dream about my old dog.. where I thought he had been hit by a car.. and the second was a time when I had one of those “groundhog day” dreams, where I kept going back in time to rescue this little girl from being kidnapped and murdered, but of course i didn’t know this until the last few cycles of the dream.. and i had JUST missed keeping her safe.. but i definately woke up feeling like i had just spent a few hours crying.. it was NOT a fun feeling. I know k would never do that.. but still.. UGH.. i hate dreams that hurt, I dream too real to handle them.

Lots of posts for today.. So I said I was going to explore these personality tests more… so I am…I started out by clicking the “test” link from LifeExplore… and I started with the Keirsey Temperament test.. here are my results..

Your Temperament is: Idealist (NF)

- Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom.

- Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic.

- Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal journeys and human potentials.

- Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.

Idealists, as a temperament, are passionately concerned with personal growth and development. Idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self–always this quest for self-knowledge and self-improvement drives their imagination. And they want to help others make the journey. Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials.Idealists are rare, making up no more than 8 to 10 percent of the population. But their ability to inspire people with their enthusiasm and their idealism has given them influence far beyond their numbers.

So I’ve moved onto the Enneagram test. I thought I was a 5.. I took 3.. this one was the most detailed though.. I’m a 6 apparently…

- Primary Intelligence: Mental

- Coping Style: Reactive

- Social Style: Compliant

- Hierarchical Style: Harmony

Sixes seek harmony with the world by complying to group standards. As mental types, they are preoccupied with danger, as their minds think of one dangerous scenario after another. They seek safety through group membership, perhaps because there is safety in numbers. Being keenly aware of the possibility for danger, they can react quickly when something seems amiss. At their best, Sixes make very loyal friends.

This is my “raw score” by Triad.. it’s linked to a theory page discussing and evaluating the parts of the scores by different methods.

this is mostly for me.. take these tests as you will.. i assume no responsibility*L* and if you don’t like what i’ve put.. too damn bad.
