-taps her fingers on the desk- I started thinking about what to write in this post yesterday.. why I didn’t write it yesterday? Well I hadn’t finished figuring out wtf I was going to blather bout today.. I still don’t.. but this is a start. Life Changes. -wrinkles nose- No one likes thinking about them, or if they do, yes it’s a great idea, but the motivation and energy to go about those changes just isn’t there. After spending a lovely morning in the ER yesterday, I’ve decided.. and well, my stomach had some say in it as well.. That I have to change a lot of my dietary and daily life habits. Contemplating doing one or two of these over an extended period of time isn’t daunting. I usually set goals for myself.. You know, between April 10 and October 10th, I’m going to lose 15 pounds, and be in shape. That’s a realistic goal to me, it’s easier to do that than, I’m going to lose 15 pounds and be in shape in 2 weeks. THAT isn’t happening.

So here I sit, thinking about what to eliminate, to correct, to limit. I have a list of things I shouldn’t eat or drink.

Things to Avoid

- arthritis and pain relievers and include the over-the-counter drugs like Advil, Naprosyn, Motrin and ibuprofen.

- alcoholic beverages, coffee, teas, soda.

- fatty, spicy, and acidic foods.

- avoid heavily salted foods.

- no chocolate.

- avoid stress(*see further down about avoiding stress)

Things I should Do

- Consume plenty of water.

- Consume plenty of more healthful whole foods such as berries and vegetables.

- Take a multi-vitamen supliment(i already do this).

- Drink milk.

- Keep a food diary tracking what I eat, and what my reactions to it are.

Suggestions on Fighting Stress

- Exercise.. it releases tension and the more obvious, gets you in shape.

- Take breaks to calm down. Aim for at least 20 minutes twice a day.. Chillout sessions.

- Keep a cat or dog. They may shed or slobber, but studies show their owners have fewer health problems than people without pets.

So I shall be doing MOST of these.. I’m not so willing to give up my coffee.. I think that after a while, I will just drink it in moderation, and in smaller quantities. Look for a life changes diary somewhere in this site, soonish.. On a brighter and different note though:) I did find a way I want to redo my photography site! -dances- So I started redoing the actual photos last night.. and it will soon have it’s makeover!
