A Messege to Tori Amos Fans

Today Scarlet’s Walk was released. In this release, listeners were to be able to access a “bonus material” site called Scarlet’s Web. Unfortunately.. Sony/Epic is unable of having technology that is up to date with the rest of the world. are using a system called ConnecteD. There is only one problem with this software. And that is the requirements to run it.

***Currently, the ConnecteD site will only work with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Mac operating systems 8.6 to 9.2. ConnecteD does not currently support any other operating system, versions of Windows or Mac OSX.***

I’m sorry, I happen to be one of the people out there that is keepin up with the times and running a current technology OS. I refuse to accept that one of the biggest record labels in the WORLD, cannot have their grunts develope and support software for all operating systems. The only way to find out you cannot access the bonus material is to directly access the site, or read the very fine print on the inside of the cd liner. Which of course means you have to OPEN the cd.. which renders it unable to be returned for a refund. The FAQ you can read from trying to access Scarlet’s Web on a XP system.

As anyone who is involved in a highly populated fan base, that is rabidly devoted to the artist can understand.. Most EWF’s across the world are shaking angry little fists at Epic/Sony and needing their mouths washed out with soap.. Me included. There IS something we can try to do.. and that is let those powers that be know.. exactly how unhappy we are. Complaints in many voices tend to be heard more clearly than just one.

From browsing the forums and going through the ConnecteD site, I have gathered up several emails and a support form. Granted most of these will just be cookie cutter answered, but some sort of human being has to be overseeing the content of email coming in. If they all have similiar subject lines, it will be investigated. If there isn’t some word of resolvement of being “locked out” of Scarlet’s Webby Friday November 1, I as well as many other Tori fans encourage you to email/write every music/entertainment magazine you possibly can.. and relate your information of how shoddy Epic/Sony’s software is.
